George Bolton’s Transcendental: A Journey Back to the Roots of Techno with “Triumph”

George Bolton’s Transcendental isn't your typical Techno/Trance project—it's an electrifying sonic exploration that’s both nostalgic and forward-thinking. George Bolton, the mastermind behind the project, takes listeners on a journey through time and sound with his latest release, Triumph.

Recorded in his home studio in Boston, Triumph embodies the essence of 90s Techno, flavored with contemporary flair. With influences like The Orb, William Orbit, and Orbital, Bolton fuses the past with the present, creating a listening experience that’s equally introspective and euphoric.

Bolton’s musical journey began in the early 90s Boston Techno scene when underground raves and college radio stations became the breeding ground for electronic music innovation. A staple in the scene, Bolton not only performed in clubs but also threw raves that became legendary, like when his crew organized a rave at a club with theme rooms and secured performances from Techno icons like Orbital and Aphex Twin.

Though Bolton stepped back from the rave scene for a while, Triumph marks a triumphant return, revisiting those Techno/Trance roots while absorbing the evolution that has transpired in the scene since. The artwork for Triumph, which depicts Sisyphus pushing a boulder up a mountain, mirrors Bolton’s philosophical approach to the record.

One of the standout tracks on the record is “Sisyphus Empathy,” which perfectly encapsulates Bolton’s ethos. Layered with pulsing synths and rhythmic beats, the track builds slowly, like the steady climb of Sisyphus, only to deliver a euphoric release. Another key track, “Orbit Overload,” is a nod to his influences, blending atmospheric elements with pounding basslines, a homage to the genre’s pioneers while still sounding fresh and relevant.

As Triumph continues to gain momentum, Bolton has his sights set on returning to the scene, with plans for DJ gigs and house parties to recreate the immersive experiences that characterized his earlier career. His sound may have evolved, but the essence of George Bolton’s Transcendental remains as dynamic and compelling as ever.

For those who crave Techno that’s both nostalgic and innovative, Triumph offers a masterclass in the genre. If you’re looking for music that pushes boundaries while paying homage to the roots of Techno, George Bolton’s Transcendental deserves a spot in your collection.

Leipzig-based musician and producer Kerian von Heyden has taken his first bold step into the public eye with the release of his debut single, Final Horizon. After years of private experimentation, this newcomer has finally found the confidence to share his deeply personal sound with the world.

Inspired by electronic greats such as Alan Walker, Calvin Harris, and Billie Eilish, Kerian’s music blends rich electronic landscapes with haunting vocals, creating an emotional journey that captivates listeners. His debut single, Final Horizon, was born from a powerful emotional state during a family trip through Italy.

On the last day of the journey, as he approached home, Kerian was overcome by a bittersweet mix of emotions—sadness for the end of the trip, joy from unforgettable experiences, and the comfort of reuniting with loved ones. This contrast of feelings serves as the inspiration behind the track’s melancholic yet hopeful vibe.

Recorded in his hometown of Leipzig, Final Horizon showcases Kerian’s ability to create emotive electronic music that resonates with a broad audience. Though he is a self-proclaimed newcomer, having never performed live or appeared on radio and TV, his years of experience in music production are evident in the intricate layers and emotional depth of his sound. The Casbahs: Capturing Indie Rock Emotion with “Roman Numerals”

The Casbahs are an up-and-coming indie rock band from the North East of England, making waves in the local music scene with their passionate approach to songwriting and captivating performances. Their latest release, “Roman Numerals,” is quickly becoming a fan favorite—a moody, introspective track that highlights the band’s unique ability to mix deep emotion with a cool, nostalgic sound.

The Casbahs are composed of five talented musicians who bring their own distinct style to the table. Frontman Niall Fenwick delivers raw, emotive vocals, while Jack Walker’s driving basslines and harmonies provide depth to their songs. Lead guitarist Joe Teasdale and rhythm guitarist Steven Grainger weave intricate melodies that complement the energy of drummer Harry Mason, whose rhythmic precision anchors the band's sound.

Formed in County Durham in 2019 by Niall and Joe, the band initially went by the name "Cellos" and released their first EP, Sea or Sky. As their sound and lineup evolved, they rebranded as The Casbahs, and in doing so, launched a new era of music that includes their well-received album Been Here Before and their latest single, “Roman Numerals.”

Recorded as part of a larger album project, “Roman Numerals” quickly became a standout track for the band. Its hauntingly mellow atmosphere and poignant lyrics dive deep into metaphors, references, and poetry, creating a thoughtful, somber mood that resonates with listeners.
